sometimes cute is a misnomer, but indicates something interesting and unique. on closer introspection this red-tail hawk is just plain interesting..... watching you to see if you are paying attention. oh, to be free to take flight with such grace....

i had to pull out all the stops this week to match up to "dwarf american minature horses" so of course i called upon my penguin with raybans. he hangs out in the cool confines of the shedd aquarium in chicago with last week's beluga. they probably share his beluga caviar....

con-side-tation

sometimes the conflict between museums, public education, and nature are difficult to decide. it is good that we have an opportunity to learn, but when are we intruding on the sanctity of animal life? i don't personally have much truck with fish, but realize they are the sustenance for millions of human types...... i just hope we can keep from being greedy and not deplete the sources. remember it's our grandchildren and greatgrandchildren who will inherit our mistakes.

a creative chainsaw artist recognized the profile of an indian chief outlined in the giant sycamore sticking out of red rock lake and this is the result against a beautiful evening sunset. funny how there are things you look at often and never see....

it's always fun to introduce new paddlers to red rock sunsets and saturday's didn't disappoint anyone. a new seaman first class and the stripbuilt didn't make it through the sea cave, but my dagger got a promotion for a new seaman second class in the red rock armada.
