guiding Light

leaving for ireland brings continuity to february's trip to ben lomond and the drive up the coastal highway to san francisco. i'm sure there are sights just like this awaiting (with the exception of sun and clear skies). wish i had the rain repelling capabilities of my webbed friends.

counterpoint

dogs evoke many emotions and as a counterpoint to "the weekly cute" i'll include a favorite picture of an unnamed dog occupying a parkbench in kirkland on a sunny day. along with the water birds and fountains he provided me with lots of photographic opportunities.
having talented and sensitive children makes me, as the phrase indicates, "proud as a peacock". i'd only hope to be so colorful as this resident of a winery north of Seattle... what amazing variations exist in nature.... both for humans and animals.

mighty mother's day

yesterday i took a journey down the mighty mississippi, with only a stiff headwind to slow me down. the older we get the easier it is to stay out of the current, but i had to spend some time with my mother - up there somewhere on a fluffy cloud..... i hope all mothers had a rewarding day!

quiet times

a quiet diversion yesterday, on a tributary of the des moines river, during a peaceful trip from red rock to eveland access - on one of the finest days of Spring in iowa.
