deer daughters

it's that time of year when you can see new life at every turn..... this young thing wasn't too worried that Ron Huelse's camera was anything but friendly.... wouldn't it have fun playing with that little bear cub in the weekly cute?

summer solstice - father's day

a calm solstice evening paddling up competine creek from whitebreast bay

father's day is everyday when your children are healthy and happy - the transition to summer brought with it beautiful clouds and calm water - and calls from all four scattered to the winds.

the bog road

The Bog Road, Lisdoonvarna
By Francis A. Fahy
And I’d barter the city,
Its pomp and its pity,
One hour to be with her
Along the Bog Road.

a weather's wind..

I am dumb to tell a weather’s wind
How time has ticked a heaven round the stars.
-Dylan Thomas
time becomes more of a known commodity as we grow older, yet experiences take us to the edge of knowledge more quickly..... hopefully short of the hangman's lime...

cherubim

in europe i was fascinated by the gargoyles that kept the dark spirits at bay, but this lovely cherub bespoke the softness of ireland and its mystery.

also green

iowa in the spring also has its beauty. trees verdant and alive as if a birthday present each year for those that have faith and expectations....

my green age

The force that through the green fuse drives the flower
Drives my green age; that blasts the roots of trees
Is my destroyer.
And I am dumb to tell the crooked rose
My youth is bent by the same wintry fever.

--Dylan Thomas “The Force That Through The Green Fuse Drives The Flower”

ireland in may with sunshine and beautiful scenery exceeded expectations. it is difficult to believe there exists such a place on this planet..... if only it weren't to have to drive on the left hand side of the road....... but i kept my mirrors!

in order to speak irish you only have to say "it was quite lovely"!
